Bohemian Styled Shoot

In October, we participated in a styled wedding photo shoot organized by the talented wedding planner Kirsten of Four Winds Weddings and her husband Jonathan of Costa Vida Photography.  The shoot took place at a breath-taking location named El Chante (Costa Rican slang for "the house") nestled up in the hills overlooking the Tamarindo bay and estuary.  This time of year the only word that comes to mind when taking in the view is "LUSH".

I was super excited because not only did we do the make-up and hair for the beautiful model, Pam, but I also provided my tribal etched brass cuffchunky leather ring and etched brass leaf necklace for the shoot, which is awesome because for years I've intended to mesh the wedding styling business with my jewelry business.  My jewelry obviously isn't "traditional" wedding jewelry -- so this styled shoot was a perfect fit for the bohemian bride looking for elegantly handmade boho jewelry.

We set up to do the hair and make-up on the fabulous deck of one of the villas surrounded by beautiful Indonesian carved furniture and doors on one side, and the stunning panoramic view on the other.  We have definitely worked in worse places.  So pretty!

I don't think I could have better captured the way I envision my jewelry being worn if I had thought up the whole shoot myself.  And the hair and make-up turned out so beautiful.  It was so much fun to work on this creative shoot!  Thanks to Kirsten for her amazing eye and style!!

Carly & Steve

We had a wonderful time with Carly and her closest friends and family.   Carly's style was natural, beachy make-up with soft boho beach hair.  Gorgeous.

Angeli & Eric

Angeli & Eric had an intimate wedding of close friends and family at Villa Diosa del Mar -- a charming beachfront estate in Playa Junquillal.

The little bungalows that we had our appointments in are so charming and provided a great backdrop for our "getting ready" photos.

Bridesmaid's Gifts

Most of my wedding clients don't know that my full time job is as a jewelry designer.  I have a line named Urban Eclectic Jewelry and have a boutique in Tamarindo.  I've tried for years to somehow tie the two businesses together - you'd think it would be an easy transition considering I'm already immersed in both industries.  You'd be surprised :)

I keep telling myself that I'm going to develop a line of "wedding jewelry", but it just never seems to come to fruition.  Which is why when situations do bring the two loves together, it makes me happy!!

Two weeks ago I had a couple come through the boutique who were honeymooning here in Costa Rica.  The bride purchased a few of my chunk leather cuffs for herself, but then decided to custom order additional cuffs as gifts for her bridesmaids.

Each is a one of kind piece and a great reminder of the special day.

Seleah & Ethan

Beautiful beach, beautiful weather and knock-out bride!

Ethan and Seleah had their wedding in Tamarindo at Capitan Suizo, surrounded by friends, family and their daughters (the cutest little things you've ever seen!).  Seleah's styling was perfect for a beach wedding.  Fitted mermaid dress, long flowing loose curls, soft glowy make-up complete with a floral crown.

Photographer Toh Gouttenoire (as usual) did an amazing job of capturing the beauty of Tamarindo at dusk and the specialness of Ethan & Seleah's day.

Best wishes to them both!!

Soft and Natural Shimmery Make-Up

Here's a few super soft, natural make-up inspiration photos.   Perfect for a tropical beach wedding here in Costa Rica!

Adriana & Eric

We met with Adriana ahead of time for her hair and make-up trial and from the very start, it was obvious that this wedding was going to be beautiful, romantic and stylish.

Adriana is Costa Rican but met Eric in New York, where they were both living.  They decided to have their nuptials here in Costa Rica at Reserva Conchal.  It was wonderful to get to spend some time with her two beautiful sisters, friends and mom as we got them dolled up for the beachfront ceremony.
